Black and white

Black and white roll film

This was produce before they had color. The good thing about black and white roll film is that they can show a lot of detail because everything is the same color so you can see the finer lines in a particular thing.

It was hard for photojournalist to take pictures with a black and white roll because the shadow or if you were in a dark place could have a major effect on your pictures which could be frustrating for them.

On the other hand, Black and white rolls had positives for example it is good to use it if you want to take an emotional picture because the color will make it more powerful to look at. Secondly black and white pictures are faster to develop then color pictures which can help a photojournalist to save some time.

According to Justin Bridle "it makes you a better photojournalist if you shoot with a black and white roll". A world in which tones of black, white and grey dance and interplay in endless variations.
